MINISTER OF WELFARE TO DELIVER NAT'L VOLUNTARY REPORT

Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia, /MONTSAME/ A delegation headed by the Minister of Social Welfare and Labor T.Gandi is attending a developmental cooperation meeting held within a session of the UN Economic and Social Council that is arranged June 28-July 2, 2010 in New York, USA.
The Minister will deliver a national voluntary report titled "Gender equality and improving women's skills" at a Ministerial meeting to run July 1.
Apart of Mongolia, the Ministers of Brazil, the Netherlands, Guatemala, USA, Namibia, Moldavia, France, Portugal, the Republic of Korea, Norway, Congo and Australia will give report at this Ministerial meeting.
The national report of Mongolia has been worked out by a multilateral working group, represented by state organizations and some NGOs, through several discussions in conjunction with the goals of promoting the gender equality reflected in the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs), of increasing women's participation at decision-making level, improving mothers' health, supporting employment.
By the report, Mongolia will voluntarily introduce its policy, activities, achievements, mistakes and problems in improving life of women. In other words, more opportunities will be created for Mongolia to make endeavor for strengthening its achievements for women and tackling problems and to intensify the internal collaboration.
Mongolia's delegation comprises some representatives of state and civil society organizations.
T.Gandi plans to meet with officials of international organizations, Ministers and state secretaries of some countries to share views with them on bilateral ties and collaboration.
