SK Energy to set up joint venture with U.S. firm for tech exports

SEOUL, June 30 (Yonhap) -- SK Energy Co., South Korea's top refiner, said
Wednesday it had agreed with U.S. engineering and construction company KBR Inc.
to establish a joint venture to export its chemical processing technologies.
The 50-50 joint venture, named "SK-KBR Technologies," will export SK Energy's
three self-developed technologies to petrochemical companies around the world via
KBR's global distribution network, the South Korean company said.
The technologies include the Advanced Transalkylation process that converts
low-priced toluene into high-priced benzene, SK Energy said.
The two companies signed the deal in Singapore early Wednesday, SK Energy said.
