Nazarbayev and Medvedev meet for bilateral talks
Astana, July 06, 2010 (Khabar) - President Nursultan Nazarbayev has held a bilateral meeting with his Russian opposite number Dmitry Medvedev in the Ak Orda residency in Astana. They discussed some prospects of the Kazakh-Russian cooperation. Nursultan Nazarbayev thanked Dmitry Medvedev for personal participation in celebrating of Capital Day and they spoke about preparation for traditional forum of frontier cooperation that is to be held this autumn.
Nursultan Nazarbayev, President of Kazakhstan:
- We always have dynamic meetings and we always have time to have meetings at all levels. Our next regional meeting will be held in September in the city of Ust-Kamenogorsk where we are going to summarise the results and discuss further meetings. Our trade and interrelations are developing in a very constructive way.
Dmitry Medvedev, President of Russia:
- The aim is what we’ve been moving towards for a long time and that aim that you set for yourself and that had a lot of discussions around, has been actually implemented. I sincerely congratulate you on this because we have in fact reached a very high level of integration.
As a result of the meeting, the sides signed a loan agreement for the financing of a project stipulating the expansion and reconstruction of the Yekibastuz Hydro-electric power station number 2.
