UN official praises Yemen efforts in facilitating int`l, local NGOs activities

GENEVA, July 28 (Saba)- Yemen permanent representative to the UN in Geneva Ibrahim
al-Adoufi
has affirmed that Yemen works with many countries through ''Yemen Friends Group'' to
encounter challenges it faces, topped by the rebellion in Saada.
In his speech at a meeting by the UN Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian
Affairs (OCHA) in Geneva and the Swiss mission in Geneva, al-Adoufi said that Yemen
managed
to overcome many challenges and difficulties in cooperation and coordination with
the UN, donors, regional organizations and non-government NGOs.
He referred to the burden imposed on Yemen by more than 850 thousand Somali
refugees, calling the international community to provide support for Yemen to be
able to face
this challenge, expressing appreciation of Yemen for donors for their support so far.
For her part, the former chairperson of OCHA hailed efforts of Yemen in
facilitating tasks of the international and local organizations to reach many areas
in Saada governorate
in order to present aid for IDPs due to the Saada rebellion.
She called on the donor countries to send more support to back Yemen to meet the
humanitarian needs of the displaced people.
