Business Road Map-2020

July 30, 2010 (Khabar) - Implementation of 2020 Business Road Map tops government meeting. The Cabinet has discussed the state of the implementation of the 2020 Business Road Map at a joint meeting of the state commission for economic modernisation and the common coordination council dealing with the issues of entrepreneurship. This state programme stipulates assistance for Kazakhstan’s businesses in three key directions such as lending for new projects and expansion of the existing ones, improvement of the entrepreneurial sphere and support for export-oriented companies. The Minister of Trade and Economic Development, Zhanar Aitzhanova also announced that businessmen from the East Kazakhstan region were the most active ones as they filed a total of 73 applications. The largest amount of applications was received at BTA Bank and Bank Center Credit. As of July the 23rd, commercial banks received 517 applications from entrepreneurs amounting to over 225 billion tenge.

Zhanar Aitzhanova, Kazakhstani minister for trade and economic development:
- There are 91 applications amounting to 16.7 billion tenge for sustaining interest rates for loans for new projects and the expansion of existing ones. The second direction received 408 applications which are to improve the business sector and amount to 174.7 billion tenge. The third scheme for export-oriented companies has 18 applications amounting to 34.4 billion tenge.

The Cabinet is now also considering 16 projects including metallurgical, agricultural and industrial and machine-building ones from 11 regions of the country. The Ministry of Economic development, the Damu fund and the financial supervision agency have already recommended implementing 14 projects.

Bulat Mukushev, chairman of board of “Damu” Fund of entrepreneurship development:
- All these projects are real and vivid, most of them are innovational and some of them lack a little to be launched. The problems are the same – changing of market conjuncture, cost of currency loans rose because of devaluation of tenge. We think all these projects have good chances and over 1 200 people work at the enterprises. We will check up reality of these plans while conducting monitoring.
