WRITERS AND TRANSLATORS TO CONVERGE TO ISTANBUL TO ATTEND CONGRESS OF WALTIC

ISTANBUL (A.A) - 12.08.2010 - Istanbul will host the Writers' and Literary Translators' International Congress (WALTIC) in September.   
The congress will take place at the Bilgi University on September 2 and 5 with the participation of novelists, translators, publishers and academicians from Bangladesh, Bosnia-Herzegovina, Chad, China, Cyprus, Denmark, Ethiopia, Finland, Germany, Hungary, Iceland, India, Iran, Ireland, Israel, Italy, Kyrgyzstan, Malawi, Norway, Pakistan, Palestine, Romania, Serbia, Sweden, Syria, Turkey, Uganda, the United States and Uzbekistan. 
The participants will discuss topics such as "Authors' Rights", "Cultural Translations"and "Freedom of Expression". 
WALTIC or "The Value of Words" is a bi-annual international literary congress founded and owned by the Swedish Writers' Union. Having its first congress was held in Stockholm in 2008, WALTIC's aim and thematic scope is increasing literacy, safeguarding freedom of expression, and strengthening authors' rights.
