Iftekhar welcomes Bahrain decision to lift ban on Bangladeshi workers
DHAKA, Bangladesh, July 25 (BSS)-Adviser for Foreign Affairs of Bangladesh caretaker government Dr Iftekhar Ahmed Chowdhury has welcomed the decision of the Kingdom of Bahrain for lifting the ban on the employment of Bangladeshi workers.
"It was a decision that reflects our close brotherly ties.
You will recall I had addressed several letters to Bahrain ministers urging this decision, and also spoken to them. It seems our diplomatic efforts have borne fruit," he said in a statement in Singapore where he is currently attending an ASEAN RegionalForum Ministerial Conference.
He, however, reiterated the need for the Bangladeshi workers everywhere to abide by the laws, rules and regulations of thehost countries, according to a message received here.
