“Shirkin life” reality show

Almaty, August 20, 2010 (Khabar) - The “Yel Arna” will start a new season of a reality show called “Shirkin life”. It’s not a rebroadcast and this television product wasn’t purchased abroad. It’s an original domestic idea and a Kazakhstan-style show. City amenities are abandoned and half of a month is spent without beauty salons, fashion boutiques and telephones. The action takes place in a real village.

- To be honest, we had some difficulties with celebrities. There were fights and tears and friendship. You will see it in the finale. They know that cameras were filming them but later they forgot about it.

Producers took away not only means of communication from the celebrities but also some everyday things they are used to. There is no television set, fridge, gas stove and even a dishwashing liquid in the house they live in. They get up at 5 a.m. and have a new challenge everyday.

Almas Kishkenbayev, singer:
- You have to look good in the city all the time and look after yourself while in a village you can do everything, wear shorts, for example, so everything is much simpler there. So I like it in this respect. This project will be interesting due to the fact that people will get to know us from the other perspective.

The television show participants made hay, caught fish, made bricks, milked cows, span yarn, beat butter and practically everything any villager usually does.

Villagers are the panel of judges. Viewers will be able to vote for the team they support via texting.

Asyl Bedelkhan, singer:
- It will be interesting to watch how we change, go back to our roots and learn a lot of things. Besides, it’s really fascinating for viewers to watch an artist, pop singer assuming a completely different role.

The reality television program will be aired prime time on “Yel Arna” at weekends. The premier will take place as soon as the beginning of September.
