DISASTERS MAKE LOSS OF MNT 529.9 BILLION
Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia, /MONTSAME/ In the first eight months of 2010, 1,838 disasters occurred. Due to them 190 people died, 9.7 million heads of livestock was lost.
According to the types of disasters, 1,542 ones were object fires, 22--heavy snow- and sandstorms, 25--floods, and 27--earthquakes higher than 3 magnitudes had been registered. Estimated damage caused by the disasters amounted to MNT 529.9 billion.
