Cabinet approves ten-year draft plan for coastguard development

(Saba) - Cabinet meeting chaired by Prime Minister Ali Mujawar approved on Tuesday a
ten-year
draft plan for Coastguard Authority development.
The plan presented by Interior Minister concentrates on completing the authority
infrastructure and upgrading the human resources sector to protect the Yemeni
territorial
waters from all illegal activities and the international shipping routes from pirate
acts.
It also identifies a number of financial and technical requirements, which enhance
the ability of coastguards, topped by putting up docks, operational control
centres, radar
stations, communications and navigation equipment, transport means and others.
The authority seeks through the plan to reach a full coverage on the sectors of
Aden Gulf and the Red Sea and to start building the infrastructure of Arab Sea
Sector.
