SANA'A, Sep.21
(Saba)- Ministry of Planning and International Cooperation and Japanese
International Corporation
for Systems signed here on Tuesday a minutes of discussion on the clean energy
project at estimated cost of USD 6.5 million.
In this regard, the Deputy Minister of Planning and International Cooperation
Hisham Sharaf affirmed the government's keenness to benefit from the use of
alternative energy
technology as an option to address the negative impacts of climate changes.
Sharaf pointed out that the government plans to spread the experience of the use of
clean energy in hospitals, schools and institutions that require the use of energy,
as
a later stage for the phase of the project, which would be limited in using a clean
energy unit in Al-Wahdah Hospital in Aden.
He noted that the tender of the project, which is the first of its kind in Yemen,
would be announced in next October.
Sharaf commended the Japanese government's contributions to supporting the Yemen
government's efforts to address the negative environmental consequences resulting
from the
climate changes by allowing the use of clean energy technology.
