Fifth Eurasian Energy Forum Kazenergy 2010 kicks off in Astana

Baku, September 6 (AzerTAc). The Fifth Eurasian Energy Forum Kazenergy 2010 has started in Astana. The event has brought together leaders of oil and gas majors from the Caspian littoral states and other nations, managers of oil companies operating in Kazakhstan. The former Polish President Aleksander Kwasniewski, Secretary General of the World Energy Council Christopher Frei and others are also attending the event.
The delegation led by the minister for emergencies Kamaladdin Heydarov and President of the State Oil Company of Azerbaijan (SOCAR) Rovnag Abdullayev are representing Azerbaijan at the event. Addressing the event Kazakh Prime Minister Kerim Masimov urged all Caspian littoral states to be cautious in oil and gas offshore production in the Caspian.
The two-day forum will focus on the global energy problems, security issues, etc. President of SOCAR Rovnag Abdullayev in his speech has emphasized that Kazenergy plays a key role in the development of cooperation between Azeri and Kazakh oil companies. As a result of the successful oil strategy, initiated by the national leader Heydar Aliyev, Azerbaijan has signed over 30 agreements with 34 companies. According to Rovnag Abdullayev, annual oil production will rise to 60 million tons by 2015.
