Abu Dhabi Fund for Development supports people with special needs

Abu Dhabi, Oct 6, 2010 (WAM)- Abu Dhabi Fund for Development has made a contribution in support of Zayed Higher Organisation for Humanitarian Care, this initiative comes as a part of ADFD's plan for social responsibility program in supporting the local community.
The support provided by ADFD was for the purpose of deaf encampment, which aims the team deaf participation in Championship quintets Asia Football in Singapore qualifying for the World Championship, also ADFD contributed to support short story competition Readable Braille 2010.
Mohammed Saif Al Suwaidi, Acting Director General of Abu Dhabi Fund for Development, has praised the active role which is undertaken by Zayed Higher Organisation for Humanitarian Care, with regard to raising the level of awareness for those with special needs through the provision of all means of care and support which will contribute to the development of their skills and abilities, He also stressed on the role of Abu Dhabi Fund for Development in supporting the activities of humanitarian organisations that would benefit people with special needs, because these activities have an important role in building a better future and will directly contribute to the integration of this group in the society.
For her part, Na'ama Mansouri, Director of the Blind Printing Press and board member of Zayed Higher Organisation for Humanitarian Care, commended the role of the wise leadership of H.H. Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Presidential Affairs, and Chairman of the Board of Directors of Abu Dhabi Fund for Development, as he emphasised on his strong interest in integrating people with special needs in the local community.
She also expressed her appreciation to the initiatives that are undertaken by Abu Dhabi Fund for Development, which enhance the efforts of Zayed Higher Organisation for Humanitarian Care in promoting the capabilities of those people with special needs, since the fund's support will contribute in promoting the social and intellectual development of children with the visual disabilities through its support to short story competition by Braille way. – Emirates News Agency, WAM
