MALAYSIAN DPM ARRIVES IN AUSTRALIA FOR A FIVE-DAY VISIT

SYDNEY, Oct 7 (Bernama) -- Malaysian Deputy Prime Minister Muhyiddin Yassin arrived here Wednesday for a five-day official visit to Australia.

Muhyiddin, who was accompanied by his wife Noorainee Abdul Rahman,
was received on arrival at the Kingsford Smith International Airport here by
Malaysian High Commissioner to Australia Salman Ahmad and other Malaysian
officials.

Muhyiddin, who is also Education Minister, is scheduled to visit educational
institutions TAFE NSW, Northern Sydney Institute, an a technical and vocational
institute here, tomorrow.

While in Australia, the Deputy Prime Minister will also meet Malaysians
living in the country, including students and leaders of Kelab Umno
Australia/New Zealand.

Muhyiddin is scheduled to officiate Malaysia Hall in Melbourne and hold a
dialogue themed 'Malaysians abroad to be part of Malaysia's local workforce and
contribute to the nation's gearing up process in becoming a high income country
by 2020' with students at it.
