20,000 houses, barracks to be built in Sidr-hit districts
BARISAL, Bnagladesh, July 31 (BSS)- Bangladesh government with the assistance from Saudi Arab and Japan will construct as many as 20,000 low- cost houses and barracks for the Sidr-hit people of eight southern districts in the country soon, official sources saidhere today.
Of the total, 10,000 low-cost houses will be built for 10,000 families with Saudi grant while 10,000 barracks, onebarrack for one thousand families, with Japanese assistance.
In the first phase, the construction of the houses will be started for the Sidr-hit people of Pirojpur, Patuakhali, Bargunaand Bagerhat districts in the first week of August.
The barracks will also be constructed in Sidr-hit eight southern districts including Barisal, Jhalakathi, Bhola, Pirojpur, Patuakhali, Barguna, Bagerhat and Satkhira in secondphase, the sources added.
