ADNOC plans to boost oil output by 30% over next five years

Abu Dhabi, Nov 23, 2010 (WAM)- The Abu Dhabi National Oil Company (ADNOC) is planning to boost its oil output by 30 per cent over the next five years, Ali Rashid Al Jarwan, General Manager of the Abu Dhabi Marine Operating Company (ADMA-OPCO), a member of ADNOC Group, disclosed yesterday.
''ADNOC and its group of companies will also raise its manpower by 30 per cent. The current pool of employees is 30000, ''Al Jarwan told reporters on the fringe of 27th GCC Production and Maintenance meeting being hosted by ADNOC.
He said that maintenance projects in the oil and gas sector account for 25 per cent of the total value of the oil industry projects.
''The aim of these periodical meetings for the GCC National Oil Companies (NOCs) is to work hard and join hands in order to find adequate solutions to obstacles facing production and maintenance operations, share experiences and draw strategies and plans for development of capacities of professionals,'' he said in his welcoming address at the three-day energy platform. – Emirates News Agency, WAM
