NASIM BEGINS EXPORTING NEW PEUGEOT 207 TO THAILAND

KUALA LUMPUR, Nov 23 (Bernama) -- Nasim Sdn Bhd, the official distributor of
Peugeot brand in Malaysia, has begun exporting the recently launched 207 to
Thailand.

The 207 was launched in Thailand on Nov 10 by its distributor there,
European Motor Cars Co Ltd, and will be featured at the 27th Thailand
International Motor Expo from Dec 1 to 12.

In a statement Tuesday, Nasim said it received an initial order of 44 units
of the new 207 for the Thai market.

"Delivery of the initial order began early this month and is targeted to be
completed by January 2011," it added.

More units of the 207 are expected to be exported to Thailand in 2011 as
demand picks up.

Nasim was appointed by Automobiles Peugeot earlier this year to spearhead
its expansion plans in Asean by making Malaysia its manufacturing hub for
right-hand drive markets in the region.

The 207 is the first car to be launched under this agreement.

Nasim also intends to begin exporting the 207 to Indonesia, Brunei and Sri
Lanka in the first quarter of 2011.

"This is the first step towards expanding the Peugeot brand’s presence in
the region and making Malaysia its right-hand drive production hub,” its chief
executive officer, SM Nasarudin SM Nasimuddin, said.

Nasim launched the much-anticipated 207 on Nov 3. The company is targeting
to sell between 5,000 and 6,000 units of the 207 in 2011.
