N. Korea threatens new wave of attacks, blames U.S. for clash

By Sam Kim
SEOUL, Nov. 25 (Yonhap) -- North Korea threatened a new wave of attacks on South
Korea on Thursday, passing the blame to the United States for an artillery clash
that killed four South Koreans earlier this week.
"The U.S. cannot evade responsibility for the artillery clash" on Tuesday, the
North Korean delegation at the border truce village of Panmunjom said in a
statement carried by the official Korean Central News Agency.
The statement added that the communist country will launch "second and third sets
of powerful physical retaliatory strikes without hesitation" if it is provoked.
The latest threat comes after South Korea and the United States agreed earlier
this week to mobilize an aircraft carrier for a joint naval drill that starts
Sunday in the Yellow Sea.
