Chinese FM postpones visit to S. Korea amid pressure to get tough with N. Korea

SEOUL, Nov. 25 (Yonhap) -- China's foreign minister has postponed a planned trip
to South Korea, an official said Friday, amid international pressure on Beijing
to get tough on North Korea's deadly artillery attack on a southern island.
Chinese Foreign Minister Yang Jiechi had planned to arrive in Seoul on Friday for
talks with his South Korean counterpart Kim Sung-hwan, three days after the
North's bloody bombing of the South's Yeonpyeong Island, which killed four
people.
But China's foreign ministry notified Seoul's embassy in Beijing that Yang has
postponed the visit, citing an unspecified "scheduling" problem, a foreign
ministry official said on condition of anonymity.
The two sides will consult to reschedule the trip, he said.
