Pakistani arrested in Nepal with fake Indian currency



Kathmandu, Feb 23 (PTI) A Pakistani was arrested in
the Nepalese capital with counterfeit Indian currency having a
face value of Rs 3.5 million, police said on Wednesday.
Mehboob Ali, who arrived at Tribhuvan International
Airport here from Bahrain, was carrying one million paper
notes with Rs 1,000 denomination and 2.5 million paper notes
with Rs 500 denomination, according to Puskar Karki, the chief
of Kathmandu Metropolitan Police Circle.
As per the preliminary investigations, the Indian
currency notes are fake, he told PTI, adding further probe is
being carried. In Nepal, it is illegal to carry Indian notes
with Rs 500 and Rs 1,000 denominations. PTI SBP
