Thai King and Queen convey condolence to quake-hit New Zealand

BANGKOK, Feb 24 (TNA) - Their Majesties King Bhumibol Adulyadej and Queen Sirikit of Thailand have conveyed their condolence to quake-hit New Zealand and people.

In a royal message published on Thursday (Feb 24), Their Majesties the King and Queen said that they were saddened by reports on the 6.3 magnitude earthquake which rocked New Zealand South Island's Christchurch City on February 22 and has caused a loss of lives, untold injuries and damage to the country in the south-western Pacific Ocean.

The Thai King and Queen also extended their sincere sympathy to all people in New Zealand who have suffered the great loss from the natural disaster.

Meanwhile, His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej has also sent a message to the President of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar, extending his sincere congratulations and best wishes for his victory in the recent general election in the neighbouring country. The beloved Thai King said in the royal message that he believes the bonds of friendship and cooperation between the two countries and their people will continue to grow in the years to come. (TNA)
