ADFD continues to support the developing countries, says Abdullah bin Zayed

Abu Dhabi, Feb 24, 2010 (WAM) - H.H. Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Foreign Minister, Deputy Chairman of the Board of Abu Dhabi Fund for Development (ADFD) and Chairman of the Executive Committee of (ADFD), stressed the ADFD continues to offer the economic support to the developing countries to help them achieve sustainable economic growth to better living condition standard of their citizens.
The move follows the directives of President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan and His Highness General Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces.
Sheikh Abdullah made the remarks during the first meeting of the committee for year 2011 in the presence of Ahmed Jumaa Al Za'abi, Deputy Minister for Presidential Affairs, Khalifa Mohammed Al Kindi, Managing Director of the Abu Dhabi Investment Council and Mohammed Saif Al Suwaidi, Acting Director General of the ADFD.
During the meeting, Sheikh Abdullah reiterated that since its inception in 1971 the ADFD has been supporting the developing countries through provision of soft loans to finance development projects in those countries, in addition to the investments and long-term contributions. He noted that the total value of ADFD and the Government of Abu Dhabi loans, grants and investments reached at the end of 2010 about Dh27.6 billion used in financing 304 developmental projects, of which 54 countries benefited around the world. - Emirates News Agency, WAM
