International Conference on teaching Arabic to non-Native Speakers to Open on Sunday


Doha, February 24 (QNA) -The Languages Centre at Qatar Faculty of Islamic Studies (QFIS) of Qatar Foundation for Education, Science and Community Development (QF) will organize next Sunday and Monday an international conference on "teaching Arabic to non-Arabic speakers".
An elite group of academics and experts in this field from Qatar, Morocco, Jordan, Tunisia, Algeria, Egypt, Saudi Arabia, Malaysia, Turkey, France and other countries in the world will take part in the conference
The two-day conference aims to support the teaching of Arabic language to assume its place among the languages of the developed world and to identify the nature of problems facing non-native speakers while learning Arabic and ways to overcome them.
It also seeks to set out a vision about the configuration of the vocabulary needed for teaching Arabic to non-Arabic speakers at the first, second and third levels up to the level at which the student can read, understand and express himself verbally and in writing, and to enter into dialogue and discusses in a sound Arabic language.
Participants will discuss twelve researches covering the role of media in teaching Arabic language to non-Arabic speakers, as well as in discuss the realities of books written about the teaching of Arabic to non-native speakers, addressing the means of improving education and training of teachers working in this area.
