Northwestern University Alumni Win Praise For Reporting Egypt Protests

Doha, February 24 (QNA) - Alumni from Northwestern University's Medill School of Journalism have won praise for their media work done from Cario's Tahrir Square to Alexandria during the 18 days of protests in Egypt.
Using multi-media forums like Twitter, Blogs, Internet audio and video the journalists reported the Egyptian protests hailed as pivotal to the changing face of politics and power in the Middle East, Northwestern University in Qatar said Thursday in a media statement.
Doha-based online producer Evan Hill and web journalist Gregg Carlstrom, both from Al Jazeera, are among four Northwestern alumni that reported the protests and events that followed in Cairo, the statement said.
Senior Associate Dean of Journalism at Northwestern's Qatar campus Richard Roth said, "Evan and Gregg were my students in the US before I came to Qatar. Neither was trained to report in zones of conflict, but both were trained to be honest, unbiased reporters they turned out to be. I'm most proud of the work they have done for Al Jazeera and its viewers all around the world."
