Yemen, donors discuss setting up forum to coordinate aid

SANA (Saba) - Yemen and donors reviewed here on Wednesday arrangements for establishing a forum concerned
with coordinating among donors and the granted aid to Yemen.
This came during a meeting gathered Minister of Planning and International Cooperation Abdul-Karim al-Arhabi and representatives of the donor countries and regional and
international organizations interested in improving the private sector's institutions in Yemen.
The meeting reviewed the forum tasks, which includes enhance the partnership between the government and private sector in addition to progressing the promising economic
sectors and strengthening investment capacities in the country.
Al-Arhabi discussed with the donor's representatives a number of issues related to the government current and future trends aiming at boosting up the role of private sector's
institutions in supporting the comprehensive development process in Yemen.
On the other hand, al-Arhabi held talks with the Middle East officer at the German Foreign Affairs Ministry Markus Potzel over the final arrangements for holding the 2nd
ministerial meeting of Yemen's Friends Group to be convened in the Saudi Capital, Riyadh in the current March.
Al-Arhabi and Potzel discussed aspects of mutual cooperation between Yemen and Germany and ways of boost them to serve the common interests of the two countries.
Al-Arhabi valued the efforts of the German government to mobilize the international support to assist Yemen overcoming challenges hinder development.
For his part, the German official affirmed his country's keenness on continuing to provide all political and development support to Yemen.
