DALM Conference Gets Underway Tomorrow in Doha


Doha, March 13 (QNA) - Drugs Affecting Lipid Metabolism (DALM) conference is to get underway in Doha's Ritz Carlton tomorrow.
Hosted by Weil Cornell Medical University in Qatar and promoted by Qatar Foundation for Education, Science and Community Development and Giovanni Lorinzini Medical Science Institution, and in association with Supreme Council for Health, Hamad Medical Corporation, Qatar Diabetes Association, International Atherosclerosis Society and Qatar Airways, the three-day conference will present the state of the art in research and treatment on diabetes, obesity, and the metabolic syndrome, disorders which pose significant health challenges for Qatar and other countries in the Gulf Region and around the world.
43 lecturers from around the world and 500 doctors from Qatar and the Middle-East will attend this year's edition.
This is the first time that (DALM) is held outside the United States or Italy. Organizers say that the conference will present doctors in Qatar and the Middle-East region with a huge opportunity to have a closer look at the latest medical developments in diabetes, obesity and metabolic syndrome diseases.
