5.1-MAGNITUDE EARTHQUAKE JOLTS SOUTHWEST BANYUWANGI
Jakarta, March 23, (ANTARA) - An earthquake measuring 5.1 on the Richter Scale hit southwest of Banyuwangi, East Java, on 07.07. a.m local time.
According to the Meteorology Climate and Geophysics Agency (BMKG), the epicenter of the earthquake was located on 9.44 degree southern latitude and 114.03 degree eastern longitude or 141 southwest of Banyuwangi, 145 southwest of Jember (East Java), 149 km southwest of Kuta, Bali, at the depth of 22 kms.
However, the earthquake has no tsunami potential.
There is no immediate report of casualty and building damage.
