"GOBI WOLF" DEMO TRAINING TO RUN

Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia, /MONTSAME/ A demo training named “Gobi Wolf-3” for protecting from earthquake danger will take place April 5-15 in Ulaanbaatar. It is co-organized by the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA), the Asia-Pacific Disaster Management Center, and the Center for Excellence in Disaster Management and Humanitarian Assistance.
In conjunction with this, a Deputy Premier and head of the State Emergency Commission M.Enkhbold received Monday Mr. Jonathan Addleton, the U.S Ambassador to Mongoliam, and Lieutenant-General John F.Goodman, a Director of the Center for Excellence.
The Deputy Premier has underlined that the training is a well-timed event of Mongolia an the USA in times of an increase of possible earthquakes near Ulaanbaatar that has many old buildings. He has mentioned that some 30 earthquakes took place in the previous year in the western provinces, and reported that the government has set up a non-staff permanent council for preventing disasters of earthquake and running rescue operations in accordance with a recommendation of the National Security Council (NSC).
Mr. Addleton has appreciated the governmental works such as drawing up the related plans and programs in case of disaster times.
During the demo training, the sides will discuss issues on direction of abolishing disaster aftermath, rehabilitation works and rendering UN assistance, management of health sector. Command battle command training will be held as well.
