PM sends message of condolence over Thai floods

VIENTIANE,APRIL 5 .(KPL) - Prime Minister Thongsing Thammavong has sent a message of condolence to his Thai counterpart Abhisit Vejjajiva expressing sadness over the flooding in southern Thailand.
The message read “It was with profound sorrow that I learned about the torrential rain in Thailand’s southern region that triggered widespread flooding and landslides in eight provinces, causing damage to property and resulting in loss of life.”
“On behalf of the Lao government and on my own behalf, I would like to express my deep sympathy to the government and people of the Kingdom of Thailand and the families affected by the flooding.”
“Under the leadership and close attention of the government, and with the strong unity of the people of the Kingdom of Thailand, I am confident that the difficulties triggered by the flooding will be addressed in order to repair the damage and allow the living conditions of local people to return to normalcy.”
