Charity concert for helping quake victims in Japan to hold today

VIENTIANE,APRIL 5 .(KPL) - A charity concert “Heartfelt Friendship” raising fund to help the earthquake and tsunami victims in Japan will be held at the National Cultural Hall, Vientiane Capital on 6 April.
The concert was declared at a press conference, the Lao Journalists’ Association on 4 April.
The President of the Committee for Peace and Solidarity, Mr. Khamphanh Simmalavong said that, “the concert would be similarly held the previous successful concerts for helping the victims of tropical storm Ketsana in the southernmost provinces of Laos and tsunami Haiti.
This concert is to raise fund for helping the victims affected by earthquake and tsunami in Japan. The concert is free for everyone who want to donate money to help the victims in Japan.
This concert will also be broadcasted which starts at 7 pm.
“This concert is very important for raising money for helping the victims in Japan,” said Mr. Sommsnouk Mixay, Vice President of Lao Journalists’ Association.
Many well known Lao singers will be invited to entertain audiences to perform at the concert. The local people can donate money through telephone No 263 862 or 571 1204 or visiting the National Culture Hall at 7 pm today.
The concert will be jointly organised by the Committee for Peace and Solidarity, the Lao Journalists’ Association, the Lao Red Cross Committee, the Lao National Tourism Authority the Lao, Handicrafts Association, the Lao Businesswomen’s Association, the Lao Association of Hotels, Restaurants, the Lao Biodiversity Association, the National Foundation for Helping of Poor People, IV-Japan Laos and other Japanese NGOs, the Formal Lao students in Japan, the Ship for SEA Youth Programme and the Women’s International Group.
