Iranian Students Continue Protests against Saudi Crimes in Bahrain

TEHRAN,April 18 (FNA)- Students of Allameh Tabatabyee University, the largest university of human sciences in the Middle-East, staged a rally on Sunday to voice their strong protest against the Saudi and Bahraini rulers' crackdown on peaceful protests and massacre of the defenseless people in Bahrain.
The students chanted various slogans such as 'Allaho Akbar', 'Down with the USA', 'Down with Israel', 'Down with Britain', 'Down with Al-Saud', and blasted Riyadh and Manama's treacherous rulers and polices.

In their final statement read at the end of the rally, the students voiced their support for the popular uprisings in Bahrain and other Islamic countries.

They also called on all Islamic states and Islamic institutions and other independent states to defend the Bahraini nation and condemn the Saudi and Bahraini governments' brutal attitude.

The demonstrators also asked Islamic states to expel Saudi ambassadors from their countries in a move to show their solidarity with the oppressed Bahraini people.

Iranians from all walks of life have staged numerous rallies during the last few weeks to shout their support for the popular uprisings in the Middle-East and North Africa and to condemn suppression of peaceful protests by dictatorial regimes in the region.

On Friday, large numbers of Iranian students staged a rally in front of Bahrain's embassy in Tehran to protest at the massacre of peaceful protestors in Bahrain and other Islamic countries in the region.

Demonstrators in Bahrain have been demanding constitutional reforms as well as an end to the 230-year-old monarchy, with hundreds camping out peacefully in the capital's Pearl Square since February 14th.

Bahraini security forces have been brutally suppressing anti-government protesters. So far, at least 40 people have been killed, almost 100 have gone missing and about 1,000 others have been injured.

The violence against protesters escalated when Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, the United Arab Emirates, Oman and Qatar dispatched their armed forces to the country to help Manama crack down on peaceful protesters.
