Iraqi prime minister to visit Seoul next week

SEOUL, April 21 (Yonhap) -- Iraqi Prime Minister Nuri al-Maliki will visit South Korea next week for talks with South Korean President Lee Myung-bak on enhancing economic cooperation between the two countries, Lee's office said Thursday.
The two leaders will discuss ways to expand cooperation on energy development in Iraq, which has the world's third-largest oil reserves, and ways to use South Korea's technology and experience for Iraq's post-war reconstruction during the summit talks slated for next Thursday, the office said in a release.
During his four-day stay from Wednesday, al-Maliki is also scheduled to visit South Korea's key industrial facilities, including an Ulsan plant of Hyundai Motor Co., and receive an honorary degree from Korea University in Seoul for his role in building democracy in the war-ridden Middle Eastern country.
