Trade minister, Korean ambassador discuss Maliki’s due visit to Korea

Baghdad (NINA) – Trade Minister, Khairullah Hasan Babaker, discussed with Korean ambassador to Iraq Maliki’s visit to South Korea in the coming few days.

A statement issued by the Trade Ministry said “Babaker stressed Iraq’s need to the Korean expertise in construction and investment and that Korea is invited to actively participate in Iraq’s reconstruction and investment through projects or coordination with the Iraqi private sector since Iraq now is a stable country. The minister also invited the Koreans to take part in the 38th Baghdad International Fair.”

The statement added that the Korean ambassador expressed his country’s desire get the Korean companies participating in projects in Iraq in addition to provide support to Iraq in its endeavor to join the World Trade Organization.”

The ambassador affirmed that he will arrange meetings for the Iraqi Trade Minister with Korean businessmen during the Iraqi ministerial delegation visit to Korea headed by Maliki.
