Yemeni court upholds death penalty on Syrian of bringing drugs

SANA'A, April 23 (Saba) - The appeal court in the capital Sana'a upheld on Saturday a death sentence on a Syrian
man of bringing drugs to the country.
The court session, chaired by Judge Ahmed al-Mu'alimi, upheld the rulings of the court of first instance that imposed a death penalty on Omar Ahmed Kham Tomani and 25-year
sentence on Mohammed Mahmoud Hemaidah and Mustafa Abdul-Qader Mohammed Jamal, both are Syrians.
They have been convicted of bringing drugs to Yemen.
Security bodies arrested the convicted Syrians in Aden port in 2009 in possession of over 2.6 million tablets of drug.
