FLASH FLOOD AGAIN HITS SUKAWANGI VILLAGE
Garut, W Java, April 25 (ANTARA) - A flash flood again hit hundreds of houses at Sukawangi village in Garut district, West Java.
"The flash flood was bigger than that on Wednesday," Sukawangi village head Emay Sumarna said.
There was no immediate report of casualties or material damage in Saturday`s flash flood triggered by heavy rains since the evening.
The flood also cut off land communication among hamlets, Sumarna said.
"Such flash flood has frequently happened when there is heavy rain. We hope the government will pay attention to the problem and find solution to it," he said.
By Saturday night local residents were still busy removing their belongings including household utensils and electronic goods to higher ground, he said.
