POSCO completes 2 auto steel plants in China

SEOUL, April 28 (Yonhap) -- POSCO, South Korea's leading steelmaker, said Thursday that it has completed two auto steel sheet plants in China, which will help secure a solid foothold in the fast growing economy.
POSCO said its new auto steel-processing plant in Tianjin, northeastern China, has an annual output of 120,000 tons.
POSCO is already operating its first auto steel-processing plant with a capacity of 120,000 tons in Tianjin.
Tianjin, China's sixth-largest city, has been emerging as an auto industry hub, as Chinese and other global automakers and car parts manufacturers open facilities there, it said.
The construction of another similar plant with a capacity of 170,000 tons in Yantai was completed as well, the steelmaker said.
