SCO countries agreed to step up fighting of trans-border crime

ASTANA, April 29 (Itar-Tass) - Secretaries of the Security Councils of
the countries, integrated in the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO),
have reiterated their intention to step up cooperation and the
coordination of actions in fighting terrorism, separatism and extremism,
as well as other forms of trans-border crime. Marat Tazhin, assistant to
the President of Kazakhstan, secretary of the Kazakh Security Council,
reported it here on Friday, commenting on the results of their meeting.
"It is worth mentioning in this connection that we are pleased with
the present level of the development of our cooperation on the SCO
territory," he said.
Tazhin said as well that the participants in the meeting "analysed the
fulfilment of the document, adopted previously by SCO, and suggested the
deepening of their cooperation and coordination of actions for the purpose
of their consistent and effective putting into effect." "We regard the
meeting as an important preparatory stage for the SCO summit, due to be
held in Astana in June. I would like to stress that this is going to be
the anniversary tenth summit of SCO, which has become one of the most
important and serious international and regional organisations in the
sphere of security," he said.
