WILL WE HAVE WORK WEEKENDS?

Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia, /MONTSAME/ A Minister of Social welfare and labour, T.Gandi has introduced the Cabinet meeting to the proposal to name Saturday of the first week of every May as the “Public working day” under a slogan “Together for development”.
In Mongolia there are some 786 thousand working people. One person's holidays, weekends, vacation account for 130 days a year, in other words, more than one third of a year is spent without productive work. It it also calculated that if one person works voluntarily one out of these days, a wealth of 12,5 billion togrog will be created. In view of this, many appeal to the Government with a request to spend one day for constructing or repairing cultural memorable places, rehabilitating nature, improving infrastructure, greening soums and cities.
The Cabinet has backed this initiative.
