D.TSOGTBAATAR IN USA


Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia, /MONTSAME/ On Thursday, the State Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs D.Tsogtbaatar met Mr. Evan S.Medeiros, a director of the U.S National Security Council in charge of China, Mongolia and Taiwan's Affairs.
They have shared views on widening the Mongolia-USA relations and cooperation and bringing them into a new level. The sides have affirmed that they are attaching an importance to mutual high level visits to be paid this year. Present at the meeting were Kh.Bekhbat, the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Mongolia to the USA; Mr. Jeffrey Prescott, a fellow to the U.S Vice President Joe Biden for Asian Affairs; and other officials.
The same day, the State Secretary met Mr. Kenneth Wollack, a president of the National Democratic Institute (NDI). D.Tsogtbaatar has spoken about measures to be taken by Mongolia in conjunction with chairing the Community of Democracies, and then expressed a willingness to develop a collaboration. Mr. Wollack has appreciated this proposal. D.Tsogtbaatar has added that Mongolia wants to study experiences and to take advice on renewing the law on election.
A report themed "Economic situation in Mongolia" was given by the State Secretary at the first meeting of the Mongolia-USA working group at the U.S Chamber of Commerce on Thursday. This measure has attracted the Ambassador Kh.Bekhbat; Tami Overby, a vice president for Asia at the U.S. Chamber of Commerce and officers of the Trade Department, the International Development Agency. Representatives of the U.S biggest entities such as the "Fluor", "Peabody Energy", "John Deer", "Bechtel", "GE", "Boeing", "Albright Stonebridge Group" have expressed a willingness to cooperate with the working group.
