MP, IHEC will be questioned in parliament tomorrow

Baghdad (NINA) – MP from the National Alliance Hanan Al Fatlawi announced that Monday’s session will witness the questioning of the Independent High Electoral Commission.

Fatlawi told NINA "the Parliament Presidency set a date, tomorrow, to question IHEC on the background of administrative and financial corruption."

Fatlawi added "all that will be put in the questioning process bases on documents and evidence, nothing will be groundless."

IHEC, in an official statement, threatened to "pursue all legal proceedings that are guaranteed by the Constitution and existing legislations and file lawsuits against those trying to defame the commission and accuse it haphazardly."

Fatlawi presented a request to the Parliament Presidency, earlier on April, to question IHEC’s chairman and members for charges related to administrative and financial corruption.

Parliament Presidency set the twenty-sixth of last month, for the questioning of IHEC, but it was postponed to tomorrow, after IHEC said that the time is not enough to answer the questions provided.
