Qatar Minister of State for Foreign Affairs Meets with US Official
Doha , May 01 (QNA) - HE the Minister of State for Foreign Affairs Ahmed bin Abdullah Al Mahmoud met on Sunday afternoon with US Special Envoy to Sudan Princeton Lyman who is currently visiting Qatar.
During the meeting they discussed the mediation efforts by the State of Qatar to establish peace in Darfur and the endeavors made for convening an expanded conference for parties concerned with Darfur, the conference that will be held in Doha from May 18-23, 2011.
For his part, Lyman welcomed the mediation efforts made by the State of Qatar and expressed his support to these efforts which he believes will lead to peace and stability in Darfur.
The meeting was attended by US Ambassador accredited to Qatar and a number of Foreign Ministry officials.
