Qatar Foreign Ministry Statement

Doha, May 01 (QNA) - The State of Qatar said its embassy and the ambassador's residence in Tripoli were targeted today by an armed attack and looting as well as were burned, an official source at the Foreign Ministry told Qatar News Agency.
The official source voiced strong condemnation of the State of Qatar of this attack as a flagrant violation of international law and norms, especially the Vienna Convention on Diplomatic Relations, which provides that the host country must provide full protection of diplomatic missions accredited to it as well as protect them from all forms of attacks.
The source added that the State of Qatar holds the Libyan authorities fully responsible for this attack and for all damages sustained. (QNA)
