Iranian Foreign Minister Praises Outcome of his Talks in Doha

Doha, May 02 (QNA) - Iran's Foreign Minister Dr. Ali Akbar Salehi praised the excellent relations between his country and the State of Qatar, describing them as "brotherly and historical."
He said his talks with HH the Emir Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani, HH the Heir Apparent Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, and HE the Prime Minister Sheikh Hamad bin Jassim bin Jabor Al Thani were fruitful and useful where latest developments in the region were discussed .. He expressed optimism about finding solutions to these events through the commendable efforts of the State of Qatar and its wise leadership.
He further said that his talks in Doha covered as several issues of common interest that serve both sides in an atmosphere of mutual understanding and that the two sides agreed on continuing consultations on various levels.
He also praised the positive cooperation between Doha and Tehran in economic fields and Qatari investment in Iran .. He stressed that the efforts of the two countries in these fields complement each other on the political, economic, security and other issues of common concern in the region as a whole.
The Iranian Foreign Minister lauded role played by the State of Qatar and its wise leadership in solving the many crises and problems that afflict the Arab region .. Noting in this regard to the successful role of Qatar in solving the Lebanese crisis through achieving reconciliation between the Lebanese factions, efforts in the reconstruction of Lebanon in addition to Qatar efforts to resolve the Darfur crisis and its active role also during the events in Gaza .. He expressed hope that this important and vital role would continue in resolving crises and problems of the region in order to achieve the legitimate demands of the people.
