Baku hosts conference on cyber security

Baku, May 4 (AzerTAc). Azerbaijan`s Ministry of Communications and Information Technologies, Center for Strategic Studies under the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan (SAM) and Romanian embassy in Baku have co-organized a conference on the theme “Cyber and national Security: NATO policy and national vision”.
Romanian Ambassador to Azerbaijan Nicolae Ureche made a speech at the event on “NATO cyber defense policy after Lisbon summit”. He noted the importance of cooperation of states in information and cyber security spheres.
Gulshan Pashayeva, deputy director of SAM said progress has been achieved in mentioned fields in Azerbaijan.
Deputy Minister of Communications and Information Technologies of Azerbaijan Elmir Velizade delivered a speech on “National information security policy aspects”. He underlined the necessity of ensuring information security in all countries, including Azerbaijan.
Reports on “Control of cyber threat and crimes”, “US cyber defense and national security within the NATO context”, “Conceptual visions and suggestions toward information security of society” were heard in the event.
The participants also discussed cyber attacks on the web pages of state and strategic importance, international cyber security, NATO`s policy in the filed of cyber and information security, international experience in the mentioned fields, cyber threats and their individual level, possible solutions of the existing problems and other related issues.
