President Ilham Aliyev becomes familiar with new apartments built for flood-affected people in Gasimbeyli village

Sabirabad, May 5 (AzerTAc). As a part of his trip to Sabirabad region, President Ilham Aliyev today has become familiar with new apartments constructed for residents of Gasimbeyli village, who lost their homes after flood as a result of the rise of water level in the Kur and Araz rivers in May, 2010.
The Head of State was told works to eliminate consequences of the natural disaster were underway in the affected areas.
Some 74 apartments have been built in Gasimbeyli village. In general, 169 houses have been constructed for flood-affected people in Sabirabad region`s Gasimbeyli, Yukhari Akhtachi, Muradbeyli, Asgarbeyli villages.
President Ilham Aliyev visited Bakhtiyar Abishov`s apartment.
All apartments in the village have been provided with new equipments.
The Azerbaijani leader was told all necessary measures were undertaken to eliminate damages of the flood and to restore the infrastructure in the affected areas. The people who suffered from the natural disaster have been paid 10 million AZN as compensation.
Levees, dikes and dams were built in all villages located across the Kur River.
The residents thanked the Head of State for visiting them and for his care and attention.
