China to host Azerbaijan`s Culture Days
Beijing, May 10 (AzerTAc). China will host the Azerbaijani Culture Days on May 24-27.
The event is aimed at strengthening cultural relations between the two countries and popularizing Azerbaijan`s culture in China.
The Days will feature a series of events, including concerts by the Azerbaijan State Chamber Orchestra, State Dance Ensemble and mugham singers, and photo, national dress and miniature book exhibitions.
Azerbaijan`s delegation will also have meetings at the ministry of culture, National Tourism Administration and National Museum.
Relations between Azerbaijan and China have long history. These relations strengthened in 1991 after Azerbaijan regained its independence. Trade between the two countries started flourishing and Chinese companies began to show interest in the Azerbaijani market.
This opened a new chapter in cultural relations between the two countries as well.
China, being one of the five permanent members in the UN Security Council, recognized Azerbaijan`s territorial integrity.
In 2006 Shusha culture center opened at the Azerbaijani embassy to China. Last year Uzeyir Hajibayli`s Arshin mal alan (The Cloth Peddler) operetta was staged in Beijing in the Chinese language.
