NUMBER OF CRIMES INCREASES

Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia, /MONTSAME/ At a national level, 6,981 crimes were registered in the first four months of 2011 reflecting an increase of 458 crimes or 7.0 per cent against the previous year.
The increase in the number of crimes was mainly due to the increases in crime against social security (197), crime against the right of ownership (123), crime against the rules of safety of traffic and use of motor vehicles (55), crime against children, family and social morality (28), crime against environmental protection rules (26), crime against administrative rules (15), crime against judicial procedures (14), occupational related crime (8), crime against human life and health (or physical well-being) (six), crime against military service (three), crime against citizens, political and other rights and freedoms (one), although there was decreases in crime against population health (11), crime against national safety (four), crime against human freedom, rights and individual's reputation (two), and crime against computer security (one) against the previous year.
In the first four months 2011, the crimes caused 2631 injuries and 437 deaths. The number of injuries increased by 475 persons or 22.0 per cent; and the number of deaths down by 30 persons or 6.4 per cent against the previous year.
