What has been done in Azerbaijan with respect to freedom of speech is obvious, Presidential Administration official

Baku, May 12 (AzerTAc). What has been done in Azerbaijan with respect to freedom of speech is obvious, said Ali Hasanov, head of the Presidential Administration`s socio-political affairs department.
“I am surprised at the statements of some international organizations on freedom of speech in Azerbaijan. If there is criticism in a country`s press on any question and everyone can freely investigate the activity of and express his activity about any state official, then any judgment that the freedom of press in this country is violated must be considered a subjective opinion.”
Hasanov noted: “Like any country Azerbaijan has its own information policy. And this policy is aimed at ensuring the interests of the Azerbaijani government, people.”
He added there is no any law or mechanism restricting the media activity or media establishment in Azerbaijan and it is not correct to speak about the violation of freedom of media in the country.
