Head of EU delegation to Azerbaijan visits Western University

Baku (AzerTAc) - Head of the European Union delegation to Azerbaijan Roland Kobia has today visited the Western University.
Rector of the University Zemfira Mammadova highlighted the activity and achievements of the facility.
Mrs. Mammadova also spoke of the foreign relations of the Western University.
Kobia delivered a report on “Azerbaijan-European Union relationship and its prospects”.
Kobia said EU attaches great importance to cooperation with Azerbaijan, adding these relations were established in 1991.
Kobia told of the history of EU-Azerbaijan cooperation.
He underscored Azerbaijan was a leading country in the region.
“Azerbaijan plays important role in energy security of Europe,” he noted.
Kobia spoke of the importance of TRASEKA, INOGATE and TEMPUS programmes.
Touching upon the Armenia-Azerbaijan Nagorno-Karabakh conflict, the Head of the EU delegation underlined the necessity of settlement of the conflict peacefully and on the basis of the principles of international law.
Then, the diplomat answered students` questions.
