Hassan: a desire in parliament to withdraw confidence from chairman, members of IHEC

Baghdad (NINA) - Leader in the Change (Taghier) slate, bayazid Hassan, said "there is a desire in the parliament to withdraw confidence from the chairman and members of Independent High Electoral Commission, but, after the end of the questioning process."

He said in a statement to NINA on Monday "according to the Parliament’s bylaw; after the end of the questioning sessions, a request is submitted, signed by 50 MPs for sacking the chairman and members of IHEC, then, vote on the sacking inside the parliament."

He stressed "there are clear and concrete failures and breaches in IHEC’s performance in the last period, especially in the last elections.”

He made clear that his bloc "submitted a lot of complaints, evidences and documents about the existence of violations and fraud in recent elections in Kurdistan, but, IHEC kept silent about that for political reasons, especially since IHEC chairman is affiliated to one of the ruling parties in Kurdistan.” /End/
